Fox‘s “Scream Queens” has cast “Twilight” star Taylor Lautner as a series regular in Season 2, Variety has learned.
Season 2 of the horror comedy shifts the action from a college campus to a hospital, where some of the most fascinating and bizarre medical cases are under observation. Lautner will play one of the series’ new male leads, Dr. Cassidy Cascade, a doctor at the hospital who suffers from a strange medical condition and becomes a suspect when a series of tragic events plagues the institution.
John Stamos is also joining the series in a lead role, while Season 1 stars Jamie Lee Curtis, Emma Roberts, Lea Michele, Abigail Breslin, Keke Palmer, Billie Lourd, Glen Powell and Niecy Nash are set to reprise their characters from last year’s outing.
In addition to his breakout role in “The Twilight Saga,” Lautner recently starred in the Netflix original film “The Ridiculous Six,” opposite Adam Sandler, and currently stars in U.K. comedy “Cuckoo,” opposite Greg Davies. Additional credits include the feature films “Tracers”; John Singleton’s thriller, “Abduction,” opposite Lily Collins and Sigourney Weaver; and director Garry Marshall’s “Valentine’s Day,” opposite Jessica Biel, Anne Hathaway, Ashton Kutcher and Julia Roberts.
“Scream Queens” hails from Ryan Murphy Television and Brad Falchuk Teley-Vision in association with 20th Century Fox TV. The series is created by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan, who also serve as writers and directors on the series. The show is executive produced by Murphy, Falchuk, Brennan and Alexis Martin Woodall.
