Man arrested on suspicion of murder in Bristol

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman's body was found at a house in Bristol.

Police attended the semi-detached house in Air Balloon Road, in the St George area of Bristol, at 11am on Tuesday 15th November.

A 63-year-old man was arrested following the discovery of the woman, believed to be in her 60s.

The house was being searched by forensic police officers after being cordoned of with tape stretching to the nextdoor Air Balloon pub.

An Avon and Somerset Police spokesman said:

"Officers responded to a call around 11am to reports of a body found at a property on Air Balloon Road. Investigations are ongoing to establish events around the death, which police are treating as suspicious. A 63-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder and is in police custody."

A spokesman for Great Western Ambulance Service added:

"We received a 999 call at about 11.15am yesterday morning to a residential address of a woman who was in cardiac arrest. Police were already on scene providing CPR and we had a paramedic in a rapid-response vehicle there, backed up by an ambulance crew. Unfortunately, the patient was confirmed as dead at the scene."
