The word "crusty" doesn't usually inspire much of an appetite. Unless, of course, you're New York rapper Jadakiss, whose crust-only pizza order is currently polarizing social media. 

Cuts & Slices, a pizzeria in Brooklyn, New York, posted a picture on Instagram of the hip hop legend's pizza order.

The picture shows a crust-only pizza with the entire center cut out and replaced with three cups of what appears to be marinara sauce, presumably for dipping the crust.

Randy Mclaren, the owner of Cuts & Slices, told INSIDER that the restaurant will provide unique requests for their VIP customers. 

"We pride ourselves in creating speciality pizzas," Mclaren said. "This special crust-only pie was for our friend and frequent customer Jadakiss."

Mclaren said the rapper had been inquiring about a crust-only pizza for a while. "About a year ago we gave in and made him this speciality crust-only pizza," he explained.

"Most people say 'Why not eat breadsticks, why not just have garlic knots,'" Mclaren added.

"There is nothing like an actual pizza with an authentic crust."

Now, the pizza shop is promoting its viral crust-only pie on Instagram.

Cuts & Slices has also since revealed what it does with the rest of the pizza, telling one Instagram user that they still give it to the customer.

But this isn't the first pizzeria to go full-crust. Last week INSIDER reported that NYC-based chain Villa Italian Kitchen recently announced it would begin selling $3 boxes filled with just the crusts of pizza slices.

Who knows? Pizza-less pizza could be the next big thing in food.

Jadakiss did not immediately respond to INSIDER's request for comment.
