Authorities in a suburb of Phoenix have arrested a driver who crashed into a group of bicyclists over the weekend, killing two people and leaving 17 others injured.
Police in Goodyear, Ariz., took 26-year-old Pedro Quintana-Lujan of Phoenix into custody following the Saturday crash. Quintana-Lujan has been charged with two counts of manslaughter, three counts of aggravated assault, 18 counts of endangerment and two counts of causing serious injury or death by a moving violation, police said. There's been a big drop in the number of clothing donations being made to Willen Hospice.
The charity says there's so few coming in that there's nothing in its warehouse for volunteers to sort.
The Hospice relies on donations of clothes to recycle and sell in its charity shops to help finance patient care, for more than 400 terminally ill adults every year.
Only a quarter of the charity's funding comes from the government, and the rest is made up by fundraising in the local community. Read More...
